Dullativity
definition: a type of activity you do or have created when you’re feeling dull (bored as hell)Anime Expo 2007
On Friday, the 29th of June, I woke up around 5:45 am to attend the 2007 Anime Expo at Long Beach. Did I have a blast? Well, not really, but it was still better than staying at home and doing nothing. I think it could have been fun if I hadn’t waited in line all day in the scorching sun. From 7:00 am to 6:15 pm all I ever did was wait [and wait] in lines. First was the line to pick up my badge and badge holder. That itself took about 3 hours. Then from 10:00 am on I waited in line to get tickets for the S.K.I.N. concert. After getting the tickets I waited in line [yet again] to get in. See where this is going?
I have now developed a strong dislike for waiting in lines.
I’m glad that I don’t burn, though. Some of my friends who are pretty white got seriously sunburned. They weren’t even pink; they were bright red by the time we got under some shade. I think my skin became at least three shades darker from being out in the sun for so long. Don’t know why we waited so long. It wasn’t as if we were all die-hard fans of S.K.I.N. or anything.
The concert was amazing though. Blasting my ears off and making me scream until my throat hurt constitutes as a good concert. Would have been worth the wait if it had been a bit longer, though.
Still, going to the Anime Expo just to see the cosplayers, gothic lolitas, and their antics is a good enough reason to go. I saw some amazing artists [they were all very pleasant to talk to] in the Artist Alley, and I purchased some manga. So it wasn’t all bad.
What’s your favorite manga/anime?
Airports, bus drivers, and traffic
Today I went to the airport to drop off my brother and father, and surprisingly, the ride to there wasn’t that bad. Traffic was almost nonexistant, so the ride was only about an hour. After my family checked in, it was time for my mother and I to take the bus back to the parking lot.
I think it’s safe to say that bus drivers, in general, are pretty aggressive drivers. There was this big truck that was making a left turn while we were coming down the road, and sure, the truck wasn’t supposed to make that turn since we were so close, but he (or she) decided to anyway. You’d think that we’d slow down because otherwise there would have been a major collision, but our driver just had to keep going. She kept going at the same speed, and only swerved at the last minute to avoid crashing with the large truck. Not that the truck had slowed down either. We missed the truck by inches. Seriously people, who cares who goes first on the road? It’s not worth your life.
Anyway, I’m home alive (thank goodness) and well. The ride back was all traffic though, which more than doubled the time it took to get to the airport. Two and a half hours! Isn’t it funny how traffic can slow you down so much?
Haircut horrors
Maybe some people like to have their hair cut, but I certainly don’t. Many bad experiences have made me avoid them as much as possible. Yet today I decided that I would go for one, since it’s really been a while since my last one, and I was feeling pretty good before I got my hair cut. Today I kind of thought that maybe, just maybe, everything will turn out okay.
Yeah right.
Now I’m left with too short hair. Other than that, the style’s decent. At least it’s not as bad as my last one. Summer has been a blast so far, hasn’t it?
Summer just beginning
So I ended my school year about a week ago, and so far my days have been filled with boredom. Suddenly, I got this idea to actually use my old and unused Dullativity blog. Honestly, I only have time to blog during the summer, so that’s why I’m categorizing this entry under Summer Fun. Not that summer is actually fun. Summer is generally boring with a few memorable events inserted throughout randomly. Anyway, because it’s summer, and that means tons of free time, I simply decided to at least try to do something productive. In other words…blog!
