Usually every year I participate in a semi-annual dance recital that my studio holds. However, between track practice and schoolwork I haven’t been taking as many dance classes. So sadly, I’m not going to dance in a performance this summer. On the other hand, I have realized that without the endless rehearsals that usually come with performing I have more time on my hands than I usually do around this time of the year.

And it’s great.

Okay, I am a little ashamed to say that since I supposedly love to dance, but five hours or more of rehearsals is just not fun…ever. At least for me it isn’t.

Anyway, I am in a sort of dilemna. One of my best friends likes this guy who’s a good friend of ours. He also happens to be extremely affectionate and flirtatious towards his girl friends. Every time he does something to me in front of my best friend I always feel guilty. I don’t like him in that way, but I still can’t help but feel like I’m betraying her in some way. Wow, that sounds dramatic. It really isn’t though. No fights have erupted, no dirty glances have been exchanged, and no heated words have been thrown around. Yes, my friends and I happen to be very mellow people, but I still feel guilty.

And even though it’s still a day early…Happy Mother’s Day! Mothers come in all different forms, but they should all be appreciated. 

Basically, as the title suggests, today was Beautification Day for my school. The showing was pathetic, but really, what did you expect? Even I only went there because I was desperate for the hours I needed for Key Club. Still, it wasn’t all that bad. My friends and I went together, and cleaning isn’t so bad when you’ve got people you can mess around with and talk to.

Actually, I don’t think that anything is that bad if you’re with your friends. That’s just one of the many joys of dragging your friends down with you. They are usually good company.

Now, I know that I should be doing a bunch of other thing (homework for one), but I’m a procrastinator and proud to be one. Honestly, lately I’ve been feeling extremely unmotivated. I used to do homework right when I got home, not because I liked to, but so that I could simply get it out of the way. These days, my homework tends to lay forgotten [ignored] until evening comes.

To all those students out there: don’t be like me.

So, between homework, having eight classes a day, somehow managing to send pictures for the school newspaper with my annoying email account, and attempting to memorize this blog’s password, I have found time to write yet another entry.

Seriously though, I know it sounds like I’m busy but I’m really not that busy.

It’s been, as the title of this entry describes, pretty boring. I have not realized just how boring and uneventful my life is until recently. Then again, a week from now I’m probably going to think differently and say that my life is pretty exciting considering my circumstances. That’s how often I change my mind.

Maybe it will get less dull. After all, track season has just started, and I’ve just discovered that I’m not as horribly out of shape as I thought I would be. I was seriously worried that I’d embarass myself by being last when running around the track, but I wasn’t anywhere near last so I saved myself some humilation.

It’s rather chilly over here. While I don’t mind the cold (mostly because I like wearing jackets), I hate going outside when I’ve just become comfortable and warm. Well, I don’t think anybody likes to go out into the cold after just becoming warm, but who knows? There are some interesting people out there.

For example, I know this one person who doesn’t like chocolate. Not because he’s allergic, lactose-intolerant, or anything like that, but because he simply doesn’t like the taste of any kind of chocolate. Okay, it seems kind of naive to be in disbelief about this, but I haven’t met anyone besides him that doesn’t like chocolate. To me it’s always been one of those everybody-likes-it (even a little) kind of food.

Now I want to eat chocolate.

 This was supposed to be posted last week, but I forgot about it. Sorry.

The fire that’s been raging all over southern California is unfortunate. School’s been cancelled because of this, but that’s actually not that great if you think about it. We’ll have to make up the days during summer, and having a “fire day” just shows how bad it has gotten. I can see the fires from my house, well, not anymore, but I could yesterday. Some of my classmates are freaking out and some are simply nonchalant about it. I’m not scared or anything, I just don’t want to evacuate.

Losing all your belongings to a fire would be…extremely awful. I’ve actually never imagined a major fire being so close. I’ve never had a fire day either. How funny, the east coast gets snow days and we get fire days.

Yeah, I know I haven’t been posting at all recently, but what can I say? School’s started and we all know what that means. Homework. Which basically leads to, “I’m sorry, but I’m too busy to spend time on a computer typing up entries about my life that nobody reads.” As you can see, though, I’m a hypocrite because even though I say that I do it anyway.

Seriously, how do people get their blogs to be so popular?

On a different note, school work is piling up like crazy. Well, I suppose that’s what you get for taking advanced classes for the sake of getting into a good college. If you don’t graduate from a good college you’re almost screwed. Or so they say.

Personally, I don’t really mind the homework all that much. It’s just one of those chores that you have to do no matter what. Like your job.

Let’s switch topics.

Homecoming was fun. The dance, I mean. I also went to the football game, and we did win, but it wasn’t all that interesting. Guess that’s just because I don’t watch football. The halftime show was pretty amusing though. We had crossdressers (they’re always fun to see) and guys attempting to dance like girls. Which wasn’t pretty, but hilarious nonetheless.

Let’s see, what else happened? …. Absolutely nothing. My school is not exactly boring, but it sure as hell isn’t exciting. I did attempt to join a few clubs though. One was the Japanese Cultural Club, aka the Anime Club, which I’m still debating about. Interesting topic, but the people in it…. Honestly, I have absolutely no qualms about people liking a different culture. If they want to learn the language, then so be it. But seriously, do not attempt to teach a different language if you yourself can’t even speak it. Thus, my hesitation in joining.

And there you have it! A glimpse of my life complete with commentary. Exciting, no?

It wasn’t too recently that my myspace got “phished”. Still, it looks like myspace has gone haywire since then because they keep saying I got phished every single time I login, which forces me to change my password every single time. Wonderful, huh? Honestly, I see no point in phishing people’s myspace accounts. Those people just like to spread spam, although why anyone would like to spread spam is beyond me.

Plus, “phishing”? Why can’t myspace just say that you got hacked. Inventing a term like that is pointless. Yet I do wonder if it’s an official word now. Probably is because myspace is such an influential community nowadays.

Ah, the joys of myspace. Personally, I don’t see the appeal of myspace (hence my lack of usage). People love it though, so I guess it’s just me. I do have a myspace even though I don’t find it interesting, but what can I say? Peer pressure.

Most tests for me are not hard, but not easy either. Sorry, that was just a random thought that popped up into my head when I thought about the midterm I had taken recently. I’m doing a course over the summer, not because I failed it or anything, but because I wanted to get it over with. That way I can fit more classes into my schedule. You might be thinking, ‘huh?’ but I’m the type of person that likes to do everything. Know anybody like that? Besides me, of course.

My older brother is coming back home soon. He’s gonna bring his friends over, but at least he knows how to let me keep my privacy. Yes, I value my privacy a lot.

My cello’s currently in the repair shop. It’s a good cello, and I’ve had many people (professionals) agree. When the guy in the repair shop said that I could get my cello (brand new) for only 400 dollars, I was thinking, ‘yeah right’. If he had my cello, I can guarantee that he wouldn’t sell it for 400 dollars brand new. It’s a psychological thing.

There isn’t much to do, but I’m going to go see Hairspray this weekend. Or tonight, if I’m lucky. I did a jazz dance to “You Can’t Stop the Beat”, which was really fun. One of my favorite dances so far. I love jazz (go jazz hands!). I also like lyrical and modern too, but jazz is usually more upbeat.

Anyway, my brain is frazzled right now so I can’t think very clearly. Guess you’ll just have to make do with this short entry.

I haven’t updated in a [long] while, but here I am right now. Dance camp ended yesterday, and it’s not like I didn’t like it or anything, but at least I can sleep in now. Really, that’s what summer’s all about. Sleeping in. I love to sleep in.

By the way, my cousin’s gone now and I shouldn’t be happy, but I am. Seriously, let’s be honest here. Living with him was a pain. Plus, I couldn’t stand all of his quirks (afraid of Disneyland at that age?).

Okay, enough about that. Today I saw my best friend in the whole world after many weeks. The last time I saw her was the last day of school, and that’s a long time for me. Towards the end of the school year I kind of felt like we were drifting apart, mainly because she acted differently around her other friends. Seeing her today really made me realize how much I’ve missed her.

That sounded way more dramatic than what really happened. But go with the flow.

We laughed so hard that we probably lost a pound….I think gyms should have comedians working there from now on to help people lose weight “the fun way.”

My aunt and cousin are currently sitting downstairs in the living room, talking about who knows what. I love my relatives; really, I do, but sometimes they overstay their welcome.

When you have a cousin that your mom insists you stick with, you kind of lose some privacy [and I value my privacy.]

Right now, I’m indulging in some precious alone time that may never come in a long, long time. So I’m gonna take this time to give you…movie reviews! “Movie reviews?” you might be thinking. Truth is, all I ever did these past three days was watch movies. So let’s start with where we left off in my last entry.

Ratatouille: is an animation worth watching. The graphics were superb, and although long, the movie was so engaging that I didn’t even notice its length. Overall, I thought the movie had stunning visuals, a decent plot, and some good laughs. However, the one thing that put me off a bit was the rat. Remy’s character was not as colorful as I expected him to be, and my attention was diverted instead to Linguini. Now I’m not sure if Linguini was supposed to be the main focus, but I still think that Remy’s character came out a bit bland and static. Go watch Ratatouille though. It’s definitely worth it.

Pan’s Labyrinth: was simply amazing. The movie was beautiful and wonderfully creative at the same time. Personally, it’s my new favorite movie. I loved how there would always be one scene which showed Ofelia’s “world” and another right after it that showed what was going on in the “real world” at the same time. The transition shows just how distant from the rest of the world Ofelia is. The [wonderful] ending could be interpreted in many different ways, and I won’t spoil it for you. Throughout the movie I kept thinking, “What’s going to happen?” Nothing disappointed me. Pan’s Labyrinth also had characters that were easy to relate to, whether or not you’ve been in such a situation before. I highly recommend that anyone see this movie [it's rated R for violence.]

1408: Now, usually, I try to avoid watching horror flicks as much as possible. My friend who dragged me to see 1408 is just the opposite. So I found myself sitting in the movie theater, expecting to be frightened out of my wits [I don't deal very well with scary movies], and I wasn’t disappointed. In this case, I think I was more chilled than frightened. 1408 is a thriller without the zombies, monsters, or demons. It plays with your mind instead [or rather, Mike's mind], and once you think it’s all over…it begins once again. I haven’t watched many horror movies, but 1408 is definitely one of the better ones.

So there you have it. My oh so interesting thoughts on Ratatouille, Pan’s Labyrinth, and 1408. I’ve stopped at least five times in the middle of writing this entry because my cousin was bothering me, but I’ve finally finished it. Dance camp starts tomorrow, which should provide you with more entertaining details of my adventures and encounters. Summer is so much fun!

That was sarcasm.

Ah, the long awaited Fourth of July has come! Not that there’s anything in particular that I look forward to doing. I had planned on going to the celebrations at the lake with my friends, but they all had to cancel. Too bad. Now I’m stuck with simply going to the movies to watch Ratatouille. Yes, another one of Pixar’s masterpieces. Or so they say. I haven’t watched it yet so I wouldn’t know.

Hopefully I’ll be able to see the fireworks this evening. Fireworks are always fun, although dangerous. So how is your July 4th holiday coming?
